## Biography

Yevgeni Svidetelev (also credited as Evgeniy Svidetelev or Е. Свидетелев) was a Soviet production designer. He worked on Mikhail Kalatozov's *The Cranes Are Flying* (1957) and *I Am Cuba* (1964), as well as other films including *The Wind* (1959) and *A Woman's Kingdom* (1968). He also contributed special effects to *The Sword and the Dragon* (1956).

Svidetelev was born on 7 February 1921 and died on 5 August 1971. He is credited on films from the late 1940s onwards, often under variant spellings of his name.
