## Biography

Yoliswa von Dallwitz, also credited as Yoliswa Gärtig, is a German-South African cinematographer. Born in 1975 in South Africa, she grew up in Tübingen and studied fine art photography and art history at Rhodes University in Grahamstown before training in cinematography at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf in Potsdam, graduating with a diploma in 2005.

She has worked as director of photography on feature films including *Shell* (2012) and *Iona* (2015), both directed by Scott Graham, as well as *Patong Girl* (2014) and *Die Arier* (2014). Her credits also include numerous documentaries and short films. Since 2014 she has taught cinematography at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, where she became professor of fictional cinematography in 2021, and at the University of Malta since 2016. She is a member of the European Film Academy and the German Film Academy.
