## Biography

Yosef Shiloach was an Israeli actor. Born Pirous Yosefian on 9 July 1941 in Iranian Kurdistan, he moved to Israel at the age of nine. He was one of the first graduates of the Beit Zvi acting school.

Shiloach appeared in numerous Israeli films, particularly in the Bourekas genre. His international credits include the role of Khalid in *Rambo III* (1988), as well as parts in *Not Without My Daughter* (1991) and *Jesus* (1979). He also provided the Hebrew voice of Ernie on the Israeli version of *Sesame Street*, *Rechov Sumsum*.

Shiloach died on 3 January 2011 in Tel Aviv after a battle with cancer. He received a lifetime achievement award from the Israel Film Academy.
