## Biography

Yu Wei-Yen (also credited as Wei-yen Yu or Yu Weiyan) was a Taiwanese film producer, production manager and production designer. He worked extensively with director Edward Yang, serving as producer and production designer on *A Brighter Summer Day* (1991). He later produced *A Confucian Confusion* (1994) and *Mahjong* (1996), and was associate producer and production manager on *Yi Yi* (2000).

He also directed *Moonlight Boy* (1993) and *Sextasy* (2017), and appeared in small acting roles, including as an interrogator in *A Brighter Summer Day*. Yu died on 20 June 2023 in Taiwan.
