## Biography

Yuko Takeuchi was a Japanese actress. She made her film debut in 1998 and gained early recognition for her role as Tomoko Oishi in the horror film *Ring* (1998).

Takeuchi's breakthrough came with the lead role in the NHK Asadora series *Asuka* (1999). She went on to star in numerous television dramas and films, including *Pride* (2004), *Be with You* (2004), *FlashForward* (2009), *Creepy* (2016) and *Miss Sherlock* (2018). Her performances in *Yomigaeri* (2003), *Be with You* (2004) and *Spring Snow* (2005) earned her consecutive Japan Academy Prize awards for best actress.

Takeuchi was born on 1 April 1980 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, and died on 27 September 2020 in Tokyo.
