## Biography

Yuumi Kawai (also credited as Yumi Kawai and 河井ゆう美) is a Japanese anime director and animator. She graduated from Tokyo Zokei University in 2011 and earned a master's degree from the Graduate School of Film and New Media at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2013.

She is known for her work on *Attack on Titan* (2013), where she served as assistant director, production assistant and key animator, and directed an episode of the second season. Other credits include episode director and assistant director roles on *Seraph of the End* (2015) and *The Ancient Magus' Bride* (2017). She also directed the short film *Fusuma no Oku* (2012).
