## Biography

Yvette Nicole Brown is an American actress. She starred as Shirley Bennett on the sitcom *Community* (2009–2015) and is set to appear as Helen on the series *Hollywood Arts* (2026). She trained at the University of Akron, graduating with a degree in communication studies in 1994.

Brown has had recurring roles including Helen Dubois on *Drake & Josh* (2004–2007) and its related projects, and Dani on the 2015 CBS reboot of *The Odd Couple*. She has appeared in films such as *(500) Days of Summer* (2009), *Tropic Thunder* (2008), *Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters* (2013) and *Avengers: Endgame* (2019). In 2021 she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her work on *A Black Lady Sketch Show*.
