Zakiyyah Alexander is an American writer, playwright and producer. A native New Yorker raised in Queens and Brooklyn, she holds an MFA in playwriting from Yale School of Drama. She is a former resident of New Dramatists and co-founder of The Kilroys, a collective addressing gender parity in theatre. Her plays include *10 Things To Do Before I Die* (Second Stage) and *The Etymology of Bird* (Hip Hop Theater Festival).

Alexander has written for several television series. Her credits include episodes of *Grey's Anatomy* (2012), *24: Legacy* (2017), *Russian Doll* (2022), *La Brea* (2021) and *Accused* (2023).
