## Biography

Chou Lan-Ping (also credited as Zhou Lan-Ping, Chow Lan-Ping and Chow Nam-Ping) was a composer active in Hong Kong and Taiwan cinema. A native of Hunan Province, China, he studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Shanghai before moving to Taiwan in 1949. He worked as a choir conductor, tenor and composer for the Broadcasting Corporation of China, then joined Shaw Brothers in Hong Kong in 1961.

He is credited with the music for *Come Drink with Me* (1966) and *Dragon Inn* (1967), both directed by King Hu. Other notable scores include *The Love Eterne* (1963), for which he received the Best Music award at the Golden Horse Awards and the Asian Film Festival. He composed scores and songs for dozens of films across musical and wuxia genres until his death in 1971.
