## Biography

Zoltán Farkas (1913–1980) was a Hungarian film editor and occasional director. He began working in the film industry in 1931 at the Hunnia Filmstudio in Budapest and became one of Hungary’s most prolific editors from the mid-1930s onwards, contributing to more than 130 productions over a career spanning four decades.

Farkas frequently collaborated with director Miklós Jancsó. He edited *The Round-Up* (1966), *The Red and the White* (1967) and *Red Psalm* (1972), among other Jancsó films. He also directed a number of features in the 1940s and 1950s.
