Biography
Avril Chown is a Canadian actor and singer. She appeared in the 1972 Toronto production of Godspell at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, alongside performers including Victor Garber, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Gilda Radner and Andrea Martin.
Her other credits include an acting role in the 1969 television series It's Our Stuff and work as a singer on the 1980 film Hog Wild. She is also credited as Self in the 1993 television film Friends of Gilda and in the 2025 documentary You Had to Be There: How the Toronto Godspell Ignited the Comedy Revolution, Spread Love & Overalls, and Created a Community That Changed the World (in a Canadian Kind of Way), where she discusses her experiences in the Godspell production and subsequent work on The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show.
