Biography
Abby McDonald is a British novelist and screenwriter from Sussex. She graduated from the University of Oxford and signed her first book deal at the age of twenty-two. She has published over thirty novels under her own name and the pseudonyms Abigail Haas and Melody Grace, including the Beachwood Bay series.
McDonald joined the writing staff of the Netflix series Bridgerton for its first season (2020) as staff writer and served as executive story editor on the second season (2022). She wrote or co-wrote episodes including 'An Affair of Honor', 'Oceans Apart' and 'An Unthinkable Fate'. Her original screenplay Jingle Bell Heist (2025) entered production in London in 2023.
