Biography

Abraham Bomba (1913–2000) was a Polish-Jewish barber who survived the Treblinka extermination camp and appeared as himself in Claude Lanzmann's documentary Shoah (1985).

Deported to Treblinka in 1942, Bomba was forced to cut the hair of women before they were gassed. He escaped in early 1943, later testifying at postwar trials of camp personnel in Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1951.

Bomba's extended interview for Shoah, filmed in a Tel Aviv barbershop, forms one of the film's central testimonies about the camp's operations.
