Biography
Adam Ferrara is an American actor and stand-up comedian. Born on 2 February 1966 in Queens, New York, he grew up in Huntington Station in an Italian-American family and graduated from Marist College.
He is known for playing Chief 'Needles' Nelson on the FX series Rescue Me (2006–2011) and Detective Tommy Manetti on The Job (2001–2002). Ferrara co-hosted the US version of Top Gear (2010–2016) and appeared as NYPD Sgt. Frank Verelli on Nurse Jackie (2013–2015). His film credits include Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009) and Definitely, Maybe (2008).
A two-time nominee for the American Comedy Award for Best Male Stand-Up, Ferrara has performed on Comedy Central and at venues including Caroline's and the Comedy Cellar. He is married to actress Alex Tyler.
