Biography
Adam Matejka (1905–1988) was a Slovak actor. Born in Paludza, he trained as a shoemaker and worked for two years in Belgian mines in the 1930s. He was active in amateur theatre from a young age and was a member of the Village Theatre from 1949 to 1959, after which he returned to his trade.
From 1953 he appeared in more than one hundred film and television roles, frequently cast as colourful village elders. He is known for his performance as Piti Báči in The Shop on Main Street (1965) and for parts in films such as St. Peter's Umbrella (1958) and Orlie pierko (1972).
