Biography
Adi Rukun is an Indonesian optometrist who appears as himself in the 2014 documentary The Look of Silence, directed by Joshua Oppenheimer. In the film he confronts men responsible for the 1965 killings of his older brother Ramli and many others during the Indonesian massacres.
Rukun was born in 1968 in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, the youngest of eight children. He later moved to Medan. He first met Oppenheimer in 2003 while the director was researching Ramli's death.
