Biography
Adjoa Andoh is an English actress and theatre director. She was born Adjoa Aiboom Helen Andoh on 14 January 1963 in Clifton, Bristol.
She began her career in theatre and has played lead roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre and the Almeida Theatre. On screen, she is known for playing Lady Agatha Danbury in the Netflix series Bridgerton (2020–) and its spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023), as well as roles in Doctor Who (2007–2008), Invictus (2009) and The Witcher (2021).
In 2025 Andoh was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). She is an honorary fellow of the Royal Society of Literature.
