Biography
Adolph Tandler (also credited as Adolf Tandler) was an Austrian composer and conductor. Born in Vienna on 2 November 1875, he moved to Los Angeles in 1908. From November 1913 to 1920 he conducted the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra, which predated the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
He later contributed to early Hollywood films, serving as composer and conductor on Queen Kelly (1929). He was musical director on Scarface (1932) and composed uncredited scores for Hell's Angels (1930) and other productions, including Mamba (1930) and Sudan (1935).
Tandler died on 30 September 1953 in Eagle Rock, California.
