Biography
Adrian Utley is an English musician, composer and record producer, best known as a member of the band Portishead. Born in Northampton, he moved to Bristol in the mid-1980s and performed as a jazz guitarist before joining Portishead in 1990. The group’s debut album Dummy was released in 1994, followed by Portishead in 1997 and Third in 2008.
Utley has composed for film and television, including Signs & Wonders (2000), Accelerator (2000) and Flytopia (2012). He has also worked as a producer and session musician with artists including Goldfrapp, Beth Gibbons and Sparklehorse, and appeared as an actor in shorts such as To Kill a Dead Man (1994).
