Biography
Ágnes Hranitzky is a Hungarian film editor and director. She studied film editing at the Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest between 1967 and 1970, and began working in the Hungarian film industry in the mid-1960s as an assistant editor.
Hranitzky has collaborated with director Béla Tarr since 1981, when she edited The Outsider. She has edited all of Tarr's subsequent feature films, including Damnation (1988), Satantango (1994), Werckmeister Harmonies (2000), The Man from London (2007) and The Turin Horse (2011). From Werckmeister Harmonies onwards she received co-director credit on Tarr's films. She received the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary in 2006 and the Béla Balázs Award in 2009.
