Biography
Aileen Britton (1916–1986) was an Australian actress of theatre, radio, television and film. She made her screen debut in the feature film Tall Timbers (1937) and then worked primarily on stage, including with the Independent Theatre, until the revival of Australian cinema in the mid-1970s.
She returned to feature films with the role of Grandma Bossier in My Brilliant Career (1979), for which she received an Australian Film Institute Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Britton appeared in numerous television series including Matlock Police, The Restless Years, Prisoner and A Country Practice.
