Biography
Aiyana Trotter is a production designer with more than twenty years’ experience in television, film, commercials and theatre. A native of Portland, Oregon, she holds a degree in Environmental Design from Hampshire College and an MFA in Theatre Design and Technical Production from San Francisco State University.
Her television credits include production design on the pilot of Abbott Elementary (2021), Black-ish (2014–2020), The Wonder Years (2021–2023), LA to Vegas (2018), Family Reunion (2019–2021) and Poppa’s House (2024–). Family Reunion earned her five nominations and one win for the Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Award.
Film work includes Mississippi Damned (2009), Advantageous (2015) and Torn (2013). She has mentored emerging filmmakers through Film Independent’s Project Involve for over a decade and serves on the Television Academy’s Peer Group Executive Committee for Art Directors and Set Decorators.
