Biography
Akira Sakuragi is a Japanese production designer. He was born on 11 April 1937 in Wakayama Prefecture.
Sakuragi worked as production designer on The Return of Godzilla (1984) and Rebirth of Mothra 3 (1998). He received art direction credits on Akira Kurosawa's Dreams (1990) and served as art director on The 8-Tomb Village (1996) and The Samurai I Loved (2005). He has received three nominations for the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction.
