Biography
Alain Poiré was a French film producer. He joined the film company Société Nouvelle des Établissements Gaumont in 1938 as assistant general manager and remained with the company, later known as Gaumont, until his death.
Poiré produced more than 200 films. His credits include A Man Escaped (1956), the Fantomas series (Fantomas, 1964; Fantomas Unleashed, 1965; Fantomas vs. Scotland Yard, 1967), The Party (1980), La Chèvre (1981), Jean de Florette (1986) and The Dinner Game (1998).
He was the father of director Jean-Marie Poiré.
