Biography
Allan Pyrah was a British cinematographer who worked primarily in television. Credited variously as Alan Pyrah or Allan Pyrah, he served as director of photography or lighting cameraman on series including Duty Free (1984–1986), Stay Lucky (1989–1993) and Emmerdale Farm.
His other credits include the miniseries A Dinner of Herbs (2000) and Catherine Cookson's The Secret (2000), as well as episodes of Where the Heart Is and Peak Practice. Pyrah was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, where he also died in 2021.
