Biography
Alan Sharp (12 January 1934 – 8 February 2013) was a Scottish novelist and screenwriter. He published two novels in the 1960s and wrote for British television, including the Play for Today episode The Long Distance Piano Player (1970).
He later wrote screenplays for around twenty films, mostly in the United States. His credits include The Hired Hand (1971), Ulzana's Raid (1972), Night Moves (1975), The Osterman Weekend (1983), Rob Roy (1995) and Dean Spanley (2008). He also adapted stories for the miniseries Nightmares & Dreamscapes (2006) and wrote for Ben Hur (2010).
