Biography
Albert Dupontel is a French actor, director and screenwriter. Born on 11 January 1964 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, he initially studied medicine before training at the Théâtre National de Chaillot under Antoine Vitez and later with Ariane Mnouchkine. He began his career as a stand-up comedian, performing one-man shows such as Sale spectacle in the early 1990s.
Dupontel made his film acting debut in the late 1980s and gained recognition for roles including Pierre in Irreversible (2002). He has directed and written several of his own films, including Bernie (1996), 9 Month Stretch (2013), See You Up There (2017) and Bye Bye Morons (2020), in which he also starred. His other notable acting credits include A Very Long Engagement (2004) and The Prey (2011).
