Biography
Albert Falco (17 October 1927 – 21 April 2012) was a French scuba diver, underwater photographer and cinematographer best known for his long collaboration with Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Born in Marseille, he joined the crew of the research vessel RV Calypso in 1952 as a diver and rose to become chief diver and later captain.
Falco contributed to Cousteau’s pioneering underwater films and expeditions, including The Silent World (1956) and World Without Sun (1964). He also worked as a cinematographer and underwater cameraman on episodes of The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau and other projects. In later years he wrote the book Capitaine de La Calypso.
