Biography
Alec Smight is an American television director, producer and film editor. Born in New York City, he is the son of director Jack Smight and actress Joyce Cunning. He began his career in editing, working on series including L.A. Law, Chicago Hope and Northern Exposure.
Smight transitioned to directing in 2006 with an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, going on to direct 42 episodes of the series as well as serving as producer. He has directed episodes of Criminal Minds (nine episodes, 2016–2020), Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, MacGyver (2016), CSI: Cyber and Dwight in Shining Armor. He has received Emmy and ACE award nominations.
