Biography
Alejandro Valdés-Rochin is a Mexican editor and producer based in Los Angeles. He began his career in post-production on feature films and appeared as Sergeant Asim in Vertical Limit (2000).
He has edited numerous documentaries, including Science Fair (2018), which received the first Sundance Festival Favorite Award and an Emmy for Outstanding Science and Technology Documentary; Maxima (2019); and Five Years North (2020), on which he also served as co-producer. His credits include work for National Geographic, HBO Max, PBS Frontline and Red Bull TV.
Valdés-Rochin has mentored filmmakers through Film Independent’s Global Media Makers programme. His editing has contributed to films that have won audience awards at Hot Docs and the Metropolis Prize at DOC NYC.
