Biography
Aleksandr Chaban (1958–2005) was a Soviet and Russian actor. Born in Serpukhov, Moscow Oblast, he graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography in 1979 under instructors A. I. Katsman and L. A. Dodin.
He is known for his role as Boris Piotrovsky in Russian Ark (2002). Other credits include Pozdniye svidaniya (1980), Taurus (2001) and the television series Master i Margarita (2005), in which he played an investigator. Chaban was named an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation in 1997.
