Biography
Aleksandr Pyatkov is a Soviet and Russian film and theatre actor. He was born on 31 July 1950 in Moscow and trained at the Higher Theatre School named after M. S. Shchepkin, graduating in 1972.
He began his career in the Moscow Theatre of Satire and later worked at the Theatre-Studio of the Film Actor and the Maly Theatre. Pyatkov is known for numerous supporting and episodic roles in Soviet and Russian cinema, including Olenin in Akira Kurosawa's Dersu Uzala (1975), an accordionist in Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears (1980) and a German soldier in The Ascent (1977). He was named People's Artist of Russia in 2006.
