Biography
Alex Ross Perry is an American filmmaker and screenwriter. Born on 14 July 1984 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, he graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts film programme in 2006. He began his career in independent film with his debut feature Impolex (2009), which he wrote, directed, produced and edited.
Perry is known for a series of independent features that he has written and directed, including The Color Wheel (2011), Listen Up Philip (2014), Queen of Earth (2015), Golden Exits (2017) and Her Smell (2018). He wrote the screenplay for the Disney film Christopher Robin (2018). His later work includes the concert film Rite Here Rite Now (2024) and the hybrid documentary Pavements (2024).
