Biography
Alexander Doré (1923–2002) was a British actor, director and screenwriter. He appeared as the First Spy in the 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and played Karl von Brauner in the 1968 television series Virgin of the Secret Service and Bertram Bright in Bright's Boffins (1970–1972).
His other screen credits include appearances in At the Stroke of Nine (1957), Casino Royale (1967) and A Very Peculiar Practice (1986). He wrote the screenplays for Jungle Street (1961) and The Wind of Change (1961), and directed several Dutch television productions in the 1970s and 1980s. Doré was married to actress Edna Doré from 1946 until his death.
