Biography
Alexander Mgebrov (also credited as Aleksandr Mgebrov or А. Мгебров) was a Russian actor. He is known for his role as Novgorod's Archbishop Pimen in Sergei Eisenstein's Ivan the Terrible, Part I (1944) and Ivan the Terrible, Part II: The Boyars' Plot (1958).
Mgebrov had a theatrical background as an actor and director, including work at the Theatre of the RSFSR First and the Leningrad Pushkin Drama Theatre in the early 1920s. His other film appearances include Young Pushkin (1937) and Khabu (1928). He was born in St Petersburg in 1884 and died in Leningrad in 1966.
