Biography
Algenis Perez Soto is a Dominican actor. He is best known for the title role of Miguel 'Sugar' Santos in the 2008 film Sugar and as Att-Lass in the 2019 film Captain Marvel.
He grew up in the Dominican Republic and was discovered by directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck while playing baseball; they cast him as the lead in Sugar, for which he learned English. He has lived in the United States since the film's release.
Perez Soto's other credits include Sambá (2017) and La Isla Rota (2018). He is married to actress Anabelle Acosta.
