Biography
Allan Dennis Rich is an American songwriter and composer. He is best known for co-writing the song 'Run to You' with Jud Friedman for the soundtrack to the film The Bodyguard (1992).
Rich grew up in the New York area and moved to Los Angeles in 1980. He began his career selling shoes before securing early songwriting credits with artists including Patti LaBelle and Barry Manilow. His long-term collaboration with Jud Friedman produced further hits such as 'I Don't Have the Heart' for James Ingram and 'For the First Time' for Kenny Loggins from One Fine Day (1996).
Rich has received multiple Academy Award, Grammy and Golden Globe nominations. He has also worked as an executive producer on projects including After Midnight (1989) and the series After Forever.
