Biography
Allen Midgette (1939–2021) was an American actor and painter. He appeared in Bernardo Bertolucci’s early films, playing Agostino in Before the Revolution (1964) and a sailor (uncredited) in The Spider’s Stratagem (1970). He also featured in La Commare Secca (1962) as Teodoro, the soldier, and as a vagabond (uncredited) in 1900 (1976).
Midgette is known for impersonating Andy Warhol on a 1967 college lecture tour. He appeared in Warhol’s films The Nude Restaurant (1967) and Lonesome Cowboys (1968). Born in Camden, New Jersey, he later lived in Woodstock, New York, where he worked as a painter.
