Biography
André Bac (born André Joseph Adrien Bachrich, 14 December 1905 – 31 May 1989) was a French cinematographer. He worked on Marcel Carné’s Daybreak (1939), credited alongside Philippe Agostini and Curt Courant.
Bac began as a photojournalist and entered feature filmmaking more fully after the Second World War. He is noted for his collaborations with director Claude Autant-Lara in the 1950s and with Yves Robert in the 1960s. His other credited films include The Red Inn (1951), War of the Buttons (1962) and Carom Shots (1963). He also directed the 1957 short film Sérénade à l’aventure.
