Biography
André Girard was a French painter, illustrator, poster artist and Resistance worker who also worked as a screenwriter in the early years of sound cinema.
He co-wrote the screenplay for Jean Renoir’s La Chienne (1931) with the director, adapting the novel by Georges de La Fouchardière. Girard was born on 25 May 1901 in Chinon, Indre-et-Loire, and died on 2 September 1968 in Nyack, New York.
