Biography
Andrew Bird is a British film editor. Born in London in December 1956, he holds citizenship of both the United Kingdom and Germany and has worked primarily in German cinema.
He has maintained a long collaboration with director Fatih Akin since the mid-1990s, editing films including Head-On (2004), The Edge of Heaven (2007), Soul Kitchen (2009), Goodbye Berlin (2016), In the Fade (2017) and The Seed of the Sacred Fig (2024). Bird won the German Film Award for Best Editing for The Edge of Heaven and received further nominations for Goodbye Berlin and A Symphony of Noise.
