Biography
Andy Lewis was an American screenwriter. Born Andrew Kittredge Lewis on 5 August 1925 in Lexington, Massachusetts, he graduated from Harvard University and began his career writing for television in the 1950s.
He contributed episodes to series including Dr. Kildare, 12 O’Clock High, The Virginian, The F.B.I. and Profiles in Courage. Lewis frequently collaborated with his older brother David E. Lewis. Their original screenplay for the 1971 thriller Klute, directed by Alan J. Pakula and starring Jane Fonda and Donald Sutherland, earned them a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He also wrote the 1970 film Underground.
