Biography
Aneta Louise Corsaut (3 November 1933 – 6 November 1995) was an American actress and writer. Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, she studied drama at Northwestern University and with Lee Strasberg before dropping out to pursue acting in New York in the mid-1950s.
She made her film debut as Jane Martin in the 1958 horror film The Blob alongside Steve McQueen. Corsaut became best known for portraying schoolteacher Helen Crump on The Andy Griffith Show (1963–1968), reprising the role in Return to Mayberry (1986). She appeared as Nurse Morgan in the 1973 Columbo episode 'A Stitch in Crime' and had recurring or guest roles in series including House Calls, Matlock and Adam-12.
