Biography
Aniello Arena is an Italian actor born on 4 August 1968 in Naples. He began acting while serving a life sentence, joining the prison theatre company Compagnia della Fortezza at Volterra. He made his screen debut as Luciano in Matteo Garrone's Reality (2012), for which he received a David di Donatello nomination.
Arena has worked repeatedly with Garrone, appearing as the police inspector in Dogman (2018), as well as in Martin Eden (2019), Piranhas (2019) and Ultras (2020). Other credits include Fiore (2016), Quasi orfano (2022) and Hey Joe (2024). He was granted a presidential pardon in 2018.
