Biography
Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress. Born Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg on 29 September 1931 in Malmö, Sweden, she died on 11 January 2015 in Rocca di Papa, Italy.
She began her career as a fashion model and won the Miss Sweden title in 1950. Ekberg appeared in American and European films from the mid-1950s onwards, with an early credited role as Anita in Artists and Models (1955).
She is best known for playing Sylvia in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960). Other credits include War and Peace (1956), Boccaccio '70 (1962), Killer Nun (1979) and Intervista (1987).
