Biography
Anne Shirley (born Dawn Evelyeen Paris) was an American actress. She began her career as a child performer under the name Dawn O'Day and later adopted the stage name Anne Shirley after playing the title role in the 1934 film Anne of Green Gables.
She appeared in supporting roles in films including Stella Dallas (1937), for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, All That Money Can Buy (1941) and Murder, My Sweet (1944). Shirley retired from acting in 1944 at the age of 26.
