Biography
Antoine Balpêtré (3 May 1898 – 29 March 1963) was a French stage and film actor. He trained at the Conservatoire de Paris and began his career in the theatre, appearing at the Théâtre de l’Odéon before joining the Comédie-Française in 1934, where he performed in works by Molière, Racine, Shakespeare and others.
He appeared in more than fifty films between 1933 and 1963. His screen credits include Le Corbeau (1943) as Dr Delorme, Diary of a Country Priest (1951) as Dr Delbende, Le Plaisir (1952) as Monsieur Poulain, The Counterfeiters of Paris (1961) as Lucas Malvoisin and Carnival of Sinners (1943) as Denis. He was the uncle of actor and producer Jacques Perrin.
