Biography
Antonio Ballerio is an Italian actor born on 14 February 1941 in Milan. He trained in scenography at the Accademia di belle arti di Brera, graduating in 1966, and later studied acting at the Accademia d'Arte Drammatica di Roma.
He began working in theatre in the 1970s, appearing in productions directed by Virginio Puecher, Giancarlo Sbragia and others. From 1984 he collaborated with Swiss theatres and in 1994 co-founded the Luganoteatro company in Lugano, where he has also worked as a director and actor for Radio Svizzera Italiana. Ballerio has appeared in numerous Italian films and television productions, often in supporting roles as businessmen or authority figures. His credits include Madly in Love (1981), The Monster of Florence (1986), Piedipiatti (1991), I Don't Speak English (1995) and The Consequences of Love (2004), in which he played the bank manager.
