Biography
Antonio Bravo (1906–1992) was a Spanish-born Mexican actor. He began his career on stage in Spain around 1916 and emigrated to Mexico in 1933, where he worked in theatre with companies including those of Fernando Soler and Virginia Fábregas before entering film in 1938.
He appeared in more than 140 film and television productions. Bravo is known for roles in Luis Buñuel’s films, including The Great Madcap (1949), Él (1953), Nazarín (1959), The Exterminating Angel (1962) as Sergio Russell, and Simon of the Desert (1965). Other credits include You’re Missing the Point (1940), The Skeleton of Mrs. Morales (1960) and numerous telenovelas from the late 1970s to 1982.
