Biography
Archie J. Bacon was an American art director and production designer. He began his career in television as a set designer on The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show from 1950 to 1958.
Bacon worked extensively in television art departments from the 1950s to the early 1990s. His credits include art direction on Get Smart (1967–1968) and He & She (1967–1968), production design and art direction on Columbo (1971–1973 and later television films in 1989), and art direction on the 1976 feature film King Kong. He also contributed to series such as Dallas (as Archibald J. Bacon), Magnum, P.I., North and South (1985), T. J. Hooker and Falcon Crest.
Bacon was born Archibald James Bacon on 5 September 1919 in Denver, Colorado, and died on 17 January 2017. He was the son of actor Walter Bacon and brother of actor Rod Bacon.
